PINK CITY, JAIPUR

A walking tour of the PInk City will take you amongst some of the most vibrant and bustling bazaars in India. The Pink City takes its name from the buildings set inside the walls of the old city which have to be painted in a terracota pink colour. This includes the famous Hawa Mahal Palace (wind palace), which was designed to allow the Maharaja's harem to watch the magnificent processions pass through Jaipur without being seen themselves.

AMBER FORT, JAIPUR

Amber fort on the outskirts of Jaipur, is one of the best preserved forts in Jaipur. Sitting atop a large hill, most visitors opt to ride an elephant from the base all the way up the many steps to the entrance of the fort. Once there they find numerous artefacts from the reign of the Maharaja's, as well as The Sheesh Mahal, is a delightful hall with numerous mirrors

The construction of this hall is done in such a way that even if a single ray of light enters the Mahal then this light would be replicated and reflected in the mirrors so that the entire hall will be enlightened with natural light.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur, in the rural heart of Rajasthan, you can meet the people of this college who work so hard to improve the lives of the people in the area.

They teach rural women from the area skills that they can take back to their villages and use to earn a living. Their most famous project is the solar lamp project, which now attracts women from all over the developing world to come to this quiet corner of India.
