The tour takes in the 3 major centres of Shimla, Amritsar, and Dharamsala. It will give you a real insight into the cultures and religions of Northern India with its focus on the Sikh centre of Amritsar, and Dharamsala the residence in exile of the Dalai Lama. In addition the tour gives a real insight into the recent history of India in particular the 1947 partition of India. Shimla was the summer capital of India during the days of the British Raj, and the Viceregal Lodge is where the Independence Declaration was signed.

AMRITSAR
Amritsar is found in the state of Punjab in North India. The state is predominately Sikh in religion, and the Golden Temple at Amritsar is the spiritual center of the Sikh religion.
The temple has often been described as the most intensely spiritual place in India....
SHIMLA
Shimla is located in the Himalayan foothills. Connected to the Punjab by road and the world famous Kalka Shimla Railway line, running the Shimla Toy Train. The journey is considered to be one of the most famous railway journeys in the world.

Shimla found fame as a Hill station during the British Raj. During the hot summers the British government would decamp from Delhi and move completely to the cooler climate of Shimla. Hence its an Indian town but with a very colonial feel, and numerous examples of British architecture.​
DHARAMSALA
Dharamsala is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, and has come to prominence as the residence in exile of the Dalai Lama who is based in a small town of Mcleod Ganj just north of the Dharamsala itself.
Culturally the area is a mixture of Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism, giving a unique blending of cultures and religions.

We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with ''The Package Travel, Package Tours Regulations 1992'' all passengers booking with Geoindia Ltd are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation form. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Geoindia Ltd. This insurance has been arranged by Towergate Chapman Stevens through Zurich Insurance PLC.
